# About the author
As of mid 2025, [Anna-Marie Swan](https://annamarieswan.com/) has spent about 10 years working in and exploring self-organising, decentralised and participatory governance and decision-making, Sociocracy, Holacracy, authentic relating, commons, systems thinking, living systems, DAOs, emergent strategy, organisational design and strategy, as well as holding trainings in Sociocracy 3.0, organisational systemic constellations, design thinking, and systems in practice.
Anna-Marie has also been in engaging in enquiry and metaphysical exploration throughout her adult life, and at different times these explorations have included vapassana and mindfulness meditation, authentic relating and circling, neo-tantric practises such as breath work, shamanic practises such as shamanic journeying and vision quests, and esoteric kabbalah.
Her work is informed by her work focuses and her personal practises and explorations.
Currently, Anna-Marie is walking herself into place with her beloved husband, W, in Devon, England, developing [Ecological Enquiry](https://annamarieswan.com/ecological-enquiry), being a steward at [OD for Life](https://www.odforlife.org/), navigating adult-long complex medical issues, and sharing her ideas, enquiries, and work as a facilitating guide, activator, writer, and community member.
